Life Happens

Posted by

Do you ever feel as if your life is happening to you? As if events and people decide for you? As if there is very limited opportunity to decide for yourself?

We’ve probably all felt that way at one time or another, but is that how you feel most of the time? If you want that to change, you have to actively make some changes.

Life does happen. Many things are out of our control in the moment. Sickness. Accidents. Death. Yet even in these most tragic of moments we have choices, and our right to make those decisions is just that – a right. You get to decide if you give that right away.

If your life feels like a ride you’re just sitting in on, maybe it’s time to get off the ride and make some decisions for yourself.

Yes, it may be easier to not make any decisions and so always have someone else to blame when things go wrong.

Sure, it’s scary to make big decisions because it’s always something of a gamble – there are no guarantees. While this is true, shouldn’t you have some input in your own life?

If you’ve always done things this way, you’re going to have to stop being an onlooker in your life, and become an active participant.

You’ll have to decide what you want and what you don’t want.

Who you want and who you don’t want.

What you will do and what you won’t do.

What you like/care about and what you don’t. What you’ll put up with and what you won’t.

You’ll have to decide what direction you want your life to take, and align how you spend your time and with who you spend your time with that.

It may seem like way too much to sit and figure out, but it’s worth it. It’s your life – the only one you have – you should take the time to decide how you want to live it.

Shouldn’t you?
